Jose Mourinho was suspended for one match and fined nearly £15,000 following his response to Fenerbahce’s thrilling 3-2 Super League win over Trabzonspor.

The Portuguese coach, who fell while trying to slide his knee at the final whistle during celebrations last Sunday, was accused of “unsporting behavior towards opposing fans” and “devaluing Turkish football and… referees and other match officials” in a heated post-match interview.

Turkish Football Federation announced that Mourinho was punished with a “locker room and bench entry ban” for an official match.

He was also fined 58,500 lira (approximately £1,300) and an additional fine of 600,000 lira (approximately £13,500) for his “hurtful” remarks.
