Israeli Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara has authorized authorities to investigate the leak of security documents at Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office, Israeli media reported on Friday.

The security scandal comes as Netanyahu’s government faces a number of political and security problems crisesincluding dismissal defense chief Yoav Gallant, who ignited an important spark opposition and common protests in Israel.

The Hebrew newspaper Maariv said Baharav-Miara’s approval meant that investigative authorities were also allowed to investigate Netanyahu.
