Rory McIlroy takes out drone as he gets shot en route to T3 in Abu Dhabi

Rory McIlroy incredibly flew a drone into the air alongside football legend Gareth Bale in Abu Dhabi.

McIlroy, 35, joins former Real Madrid and Spurs winger Bale, 35, for a new DP World Tour challenge video as he competes in this week’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links.

The world number 3 and football legend is tasked with the task of neutralizing one of the drones buzzing in the sky.

After several close attempts from both players, McIlroy finally got the job done, much to his delight.

McIlroy then shot a spectacular final round 64 to finish the T3 tournament at 21 under par.

This left him just two shots clear of eventual winner Paul Waring, who recorded his first victory at the track in more than six years.

This performance also completes McIlroy’s sixth Harry Vardon trophy; This is a feat that was also achieved by the late Seve Ballesteros.
