10 people died and 13 were injured when gunmen opened fire on a bar in central Mexico.

Gunmen opened fire on a bar in the center Mexican Local authorities said Sunday that 10 people were killed and 13 were injured.

The attack took place Saturday in the historic city center of Santiago de Queretaro, in a region long untouched by the violence seen in neighboring states such as Guerrero. However, in recent years there have been a series of violent incidents in the state of Querataro, which have increased the concerns of the authorities.

Juan Luis Ferrusca Ortiz, the city’s public security chief, confirmed the attack and the number of victims. It was stated that at least one person was arrested after the attack.

Ferrusca Ortiz said authorities identified those responsible by tracking the license plates of the car from which the gunmen escaped, which was later abandoned and set on fire.

In two videos taken from the bar’s security cameras and spread on social media networks, a group of four people can be seen entering the bar and shooting indiscriminately at people eating at several tables. In the video, it is seen that screaming people throw themselves on the ground and try to take shelter, covered in the blood of the people who were shot.

It was stated that two of the 13 injured people were seriously injured.
