Cyclist taken to hospital following serious crash on A2 near Barham

A cyclist was taken to hospital by plane following the accident that occurred on the A road, where traffic was busy last night.

While the A2 motorway near Barham was closed and police and paramedics responded to the scene of the accident, a car and a cyclist collided on the coastline.

The cyclist was taken by air ambulance to a London hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A police spokesman added: “Kent Police were called at 6.19pm on Monday, November 11, to a collision involving a car and a cyclist on the coastal carriageway of the A2 near Barham.

Police and medical teams intervened where A2 was closed so that the air ambulance could land.

“The cyclist was taken to hospital in London where he received treatment.”
