Malayalam actor Siddique gets relief in rape case as Supreme Court extends interim bail: REPORT

Siddique can finally breathe easy after the Supreme Court extended the interim bail granted to him for another week in connection with the rape allegation. According to a report by PTI, Justices Satish Chandra Sharma and Bela M Trivedi decided to extend the interim relief granted to the actor on September 30. The judges also ordered him to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

According to the report, he is represented by a senior lawyer. siddik He had requested more time for discussions due to health issues. He also underlined that the investigation agency repeatedly requested the actor’s old phone and laptop from 2016. The lawyer claimed that Siddique no longer had these electronic devices.

The senior lawyer also stated that the officers asked for the actor’s passport and Aadhaar details even though they knew that he had met the complainant once in his life. On the other hand, Kerala Police’s lawyer stated that Siddique was not cooperating with the investigators.

It was claimed that he gave vague answers to the questions asked to him during the interrogation process and even deleted his social media accounts.

Siddique reportedly appeared before the SIT (Special Investigation Team) twice for questioning. For the unversed, the actor was accused of sexually assaulting a young actor at a hotel in Kochi in 2016. The complainant informed the police that the actor had attended the screening of the film Sukhamayirikkatte at a local theater in Thiruvananthapuram.

During the incident, Siddique allegedly invited her to a hotel under false pretenses and sexually assaulted her. “I was locked in a room. He physically abused me and said it would be okay if I didn’t let him cross the boundaries,” the young actor was quoted as saying by The Statesman.
