The AAP delegation comprising Goa unit president Amit Palekar, party MLAs Venzy Viegas, Cruz Silva and others met the governor.

Speaking to reporters outside the Raj Bhavan later, Mr. Palekar said the party had demanded that all current recruitments in civil services be suspended until the judicial commission conducts an inquiry.

“There should also be an investigation into past recruitment, including assistant police inspector positions,” he said.

“The bench told the governor that such a scam would not have been possible without the involvement of people at the government level,” the AAP leader said.

Some office bearers of the BJP were also arrested for duping people under the pretext of giving them government jobs, “but the BJP has now distanced itself from these accused. They are systematically giving statements in which they have already resigned. The scam has taken place.” Mr. Palekar claimed that he had been raising the issue of cash-for-work scam since the last eight months.

“Everything I said is now coming out after the victims started coming forward,” he said.
