RCMP conduct Remembrance Day investigation resulting in four arrests and more than 100 charges – SteinbachOnline.com

Steinbach RCMP were busy last weekend, responding to a total of 84 calls for service.

At 8:47 p.m. Friday, police received a report of an impaired driver near Market Boulevard in Steinbach. Police teams intervened in the incident and located the vehicle in question. The driver, a 40-year-old man from La Broquerie, failed a roadside screening test and was brought back to the detachment to take breath samples, which were twice the legal limit.

Then at 2:34 a.m. on Saturday, RCMP officers were patrolling the east side of Steinbach. A 20-year-old male driver from Steinbach was arrested for impaired driving. He, too, was brought back to the detachment to provide breath samples that were twice the legal limit.

In both cases, accusations remain.

Finally, on Remembrance Day, Steinbach RCMP, Ste. He received a tip that resulted in an investigation at RM. Mother.

Officers investigated a property and discovered several stolen items, including a snowmobile, trailer, lawn mowers and SUV. The majority of the stolen items were from two Break and Enters near Brunkild, Manitoba, earlier in the day.

The following people were arrested:

  • Jeffry Carlson, a man in his 50s from La Broquerie
  • Rodney Guimond, a man in his 40s from Winnipeg
  • Robert Lagasse, a man in his 50s from Steinbach
  • Dustin Shelton, a man in his 30s from Winnipeg

More than 100 charges were filed as a result of this investigation; these include:

  • Possession of Stolen Goods for the purpose of smuggling over $5,000,
  • Property Obtained by Crime exceeding $5000,
  • Mischief over $5000,
  • Flight from Police Officer,
  • Resisting Arrest,
  • Possession for the Purpose of Human Trafficking and Possession of Methamphetamine, Fentanyl and Cocaine,
  • Break and Enter,
  • Possession of tools and weapons,
  • Failure to Comply with Court Conditions: Conditional Release and Release Order.

All four men were detained. The investigation continues.
