Three more wanted in Fort Hare guard murder

Arrest warrants were issued for Bafana Chiliza, Nkosiyazi Maphumulo and Siphiwo Jejane on Thursday.

Police also released photos of the three suspects.

Mboneli Vesele was shot dead while sitting outside Vice-Chancellor Sakhela Buhlungu’s home in the Eastern Cape in January last year.

“We believe these three suspects have answers as to why, why and who exactly killed Mr. Vesele. We are therefore asking them to turn themselves in to the nearest police station. If anyone has seen them, please contact the investigating officer on 063 695 8596,” says the national Police Athlenda Mathe.

Ten suspects connected to the case, including three university employees, appeared in court multiple times.

Mathe says they believe the murder was planned to obtain security contracts.
