Troopers say man was stabbed to death while trying to break into Emmonak’s home

On November 13, a man was stabbed to death while trying to break into a house in Emmonak. According to Alaska State Troopers.

A preliminary investigation by the Alaska Bureau of Investigation revealed that Lucas Agathluk, 31, attempted to break into the home of an unnamed man in the early morning hours of Nov. 13, troopers said. The unnamed man stabbed Agathluk an unknown number of times. Soldiers said they believed it was an example of self-defense. Agathluk died from his injuries at the Emmonak clinic.

The District Attorney’s Office did not file criminal charges against the unnamed man, but police said the investigation is ongoing.

Agathluk’s relatives were informed and his body was sent to the State Forensic Medicine Institute.
