Bluesky took action today

Bluesky’s popularity is rapidly growing, but if you’re trying to use it today the site may be malfunctioning. My feeds and notifications as I write this article A lot Loading is slow on web and mobile when logged in, and that’s been the case for a few of my experiences as well. threshold colleagues.

Things seem to be going well right now, but Bluesky developers have already warned that things might not work as expected today. Earlier this morning, developer Samuel Newman shared that the site would briefly switch to read-only mode because “something fell.” After the site was recovered, another developer, Paul Frazee, posted: “Today will get interesting” and if the site suggested “maybe I’ll get a soda, I like the cat.”

When there’s an outage, you might see things like an “Invalid Processing” message, an appearance that doesn’t work, or “random errors or blank screens,” Frazee says.

I took screenshots of these posts in case the site goes down again.
