Vanderburgh Co. man facing child molestation charges

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest following a child abuse investigation.

According to an affidavit, a teenage victim met with authorities in September and October about the abuse.

The affidavit shows that during both interviews, the victim told authorities she was sexually assaulted by 27-year-old Samuel Wert.

Authorities said the victim told them he was attacked multiple times by Wert.

Wert was remanded to Vanderburgh County Jail on $100,000 bail.

Court records show Wert had his first court appearance last month.

He will appear in court again in December.
