Argyle couple facing drug charges after traffic stop

Two Argyle residents are facing drug charges following a traffic stop.

State Police stopped a vehicle on Fort Edward Road in Moreau for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as 47-year-old Shemariah S. Carlisle and the passenger was identified as 53-year-old Chistopher M. Foster.

Officers found several glass smoking devices in the vehicle, police said. According to police, a bag just outside the crime contained felony drugs packaged for sale. They are accused of throwing the bag out of the vehicle.

Carlisle and Foster, both of Argyle, are charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance by tampering with physical evidence. Foster also faces a traffic violation.

Both were arrested and transported to SP Wilton for processing. Both were arraigned in Moreau City Court. Carlisle was released on his own recognizance and Foster was remanded to Saratoga County Jail without bail.
