Public prosecution offices in 11 Uttar Pradesh districts to strengthen law and order

The government is establishing prosecutors’ offices in eleven districts across the state; Here, Joint Director (JD) level officials will oversee the monitoring of ongoing cases in different courts.

The state government has implemented significant measures to create a stronger prosecution system to strengthen law and order in Uttar Pradesh, a press note shared by the government’s media cell said on Thursday.

It was stated that the government will set up prosecution offices in eleven districts across the state, where Joint Director (JD) level officials will oversee the monitoring of ongoing cases in different courts. The government has already allocated funds for these new offices in each selected region. A formal budget request has been submitted to start construction and construction will begin soon with the aim of further improving the efficiency and capacity of the prosecution system.

Additional director general of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions Deepesh Juneja informed that chief minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the establishment of new Joint Prosecution Offices in 11 districts to strengthen and strengthen the department. He said that lands have been allocated in Shravasti, Chandauli, Chitrakoot, Banda, Sant Kabir Nagar, Ghaziabad, Maharajganj, Lalitpur, Sonbhadra, Auraiya and Firozabad districts.

The official added that the Tehsildar has already appointed him to this post. Two estimates were prepared for the construction of the office building: one by the Public Works Department (PWD). 7.4 crore and another by the Rural Engineering Department (RED). 7.93 crore. These estimates were submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for approval.

The ADG also stated that the government has achieved significant success in putting criminals behind bars in the last seven and a half years, thanks to the effective advocacy of the prosecution in the courts. The establishment of these offices is expected to significantly improve the prosecution process, he said, adding that this is expected to expedite legal proceedings against criminals, leading to faster resolution in the courts. He emphasized that this would also reduce the pressure on the judicial system and ensure that cases are resolved faster and more fairly.
