Tempe man arrested after skeletal remains found in backyard freezer

Tempe police arrested a man after an investigation turned up human skeletal remains in his backyard freezer.

Detectives, Joseph Hill Jr. Before contacting (51), he received a tip about a possible body in the freezer in his backyard. On Tuesday they asked to see the contents of the freezer.

Hill did not allow police to investigate, but noted that his father died four years ago.

After a search warrant was obtained, officers found the body and arrested Hill. He faces two charges: concealment of a dead body, a class 5 felony, and failure to report a death, a class 2 misdemeanor.

The body has not yet been identified.
