Man killed after uncle confronted two brothers for harassing girl

New Delhi:Two brothers have been arrested for stabbing a 28-year-old man after his uncle objected to them molesting a girl near his home in northeast Delhi, police said on Saturday. They said Manish alias Rahul, who was stabbed in the neck, died during treatment at GTB Hospital earlier today.

The incident took place on Friday evening near Annapurna restaurant Murga Market, Sunder Nagari. A police officer said that Manish’s uncle Krishna Kumar informed the police that Salman and his brother Arbaz were harassing a girl near his house, he intervened and asked them to leave.

The officer said that about half an hour later, Kumar, who worked as a cable operator, came to know that the two men were arguing with his nephew Manish.

When he reached the scene, he saw Salman stabbing Manish on the right side of his neck with a sharp weapon and Arbaz grabbing him with his claws. It was stated that the suspect fled the scene after stabbing Manish.

An FIR has been registered under relevant sections and an investigation has been initiated into the matter.

The police officer said that both the suspects were arrested on Saturday morning and the crime weapon was also seized.

However, the police did not make a statement about whether the victim was present in the fight between his uncle and the two brothers.

Police said Salman runs a tea stall and Arbaz’s profession is a labourer.
