JR Keihin-Tohoku line services have been suspended since the first train between Kamata and Shinagawa stations in Tokyo on Sunday and will remain suspended until 4:30 p.m., according to East Japan Railway Company (JR East).

There is a decrease of around 20-40 percent in the number of trains on other parts of the line.

The suspension is due to work being done on the platform at JR Oimachi Station. As the area is redeveloped, the platform will be widened by up to 70 centimeters to accommodate the expected increase in passengers using the station.

The redevelopment project is being carried out in cooperation with the Shinagawa District Office.
