BREAKING: Labor Party sacks Enugu Senator over allegations of anti-party and sedition

Labor Party LP has expelled the current Senator representing Enugu East Senatorial District, Senator Kevin Chukwu, as a member of the party.

DAILY POST reports that Senator Chukwu was suspended from office by the Amuri district rulers over allegations of anti-party activities and insubordination.

This was contained in a letter signed by the party chairman in Amurri district and sent to the party chairman in Enugu state through the Local government Chairman.

Here is part of the letter presented to journalists on Sunday:

“Dear Senator Kelvin Chukwu,

“Your Notice of Suspension from the Labor Party

“We, members of the Executive Council of the Labor Party Amurri Ward, Nkanu West LGA, hereby formally notify you, Esteemed Senator Kelvin Chukwu, that you have been suspended from the Labor Party for a period of 90 days, effective from the date of this notice and/or the date you received this notification.

“This decision was taken as a result of your disobedience to the party leadership, your anti-party activities and your failure to comply with party principles.

“Although many requests were made to you on this issue, you did not take advantage of the opportunity to make your voice heard.

“I am sure that the party’s constitutional provisions are at your disposal if you wish to invoke them after your suspension.

The letter was signed by Comrade Chika Okoh on behalf of the Labor Party Amurri Ward Executive Council.
