Swindon sexual attacker jailed for multiple offenses

A “sexual predator” convicted of attacking a child multiple times has been sentenced to 21 years in prison.

Damian Kinston, 27, was convicted by a jury following a trial at Swindon Crown Court.

Investigators said Kinston had “no remorse” for his actions and praised the victim’s “courage and bravery” throughout the case.

Det Sgt Kiah Vaughan, of Wiltshire Police, said: “Kinston is a sexual predator who repeatedly subjected his victim, who was only seven years old when the abuse began, to horrific sexual assaults for the sole purpose of achieving his own sexual gratification.”

Kinston was convicted of assault on a child under 13, multiple counts of rape on a child under 13, multiple counts of sexual activity in front of a child, and multiple counts of assault by penetration on a child under 13.

As well as the prison sentence, Kinston was also given a sexual harm and prevention order and an indefinite restraining order and was placed on the sex offenders register.

Detective Sergeant Vaughan added: “I hope today’s sentencing will help him begin to move forward with his life knowing that he was instrumental in not only getting justice for himself but also preventing harm to others.”
