Shortly before noon, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert near the 7000 block of Northwest 15th Court, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Miami Police Department.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel transported the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center for treatment, authorities said. His condition was not disclosed by police.

Surveillance video provided by MPD’s Real Time Crime Center helped officers identify a vehicle connected to the shooting, according to the report. Police said they located the vehicle hours later and conducted a felony stop, taking two suspects into custody, identified as 43-year-old James Usry of Opa-locka and 41-year-old Leronne Harden of Fort Lauderdale.

Both suspects were read their rights and given confessions extracted from publicly released arrest reports. Authorities have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and police have not yet revealed a motive for the attack.

Jail records show Usry faces one count each of second-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon during a felony, carrying a concealed firearm and throwing or launching a deadly missile. Harden is also charged with second-degree murder and accessory to a crime.

As of Monday, both men remained in Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Facility and their bonds were listed as “to be determined.”
