Sexual websites are taking over the internet

A fast-growing, prolific AI company co-founded by the chief executive of an ASX-listed pet sitting business is quietly making millions of dollars by allowing its users to create their own digital girlfriends or boyfriends.

Candy.AI was launched in September last year and has amassed millions of users. It’s one of many “AI girlfriend” start-ups that are taking market share from sexual content sites like OnlyFans by allowing customers to create virtual partners who interact with them using large language models.
