Woman falsely reports sexual assault at Lebanon Hills Regional Park (Twin Cities)

Eagan police say a woman will be charged after filing a false police report regarding a sexual assault at Lebanon Hills Regional Park.

“After a thorough investigation… we were able to report that the assault never occurred,” police said in a statement Tuesday, adding that the woman told police her “allegations were false.”

The woman reported parking at the Lebanon Hills Visitor Center and walking on nearby trails around 11 a.m. on Nov. 7. a man sexually assaulted herPolice have previously said this by informing the public and encouraging people not to travel alone when using the parking system.

“Knowing the impact this has had on so many people over the past few weeks, we want to thank our community for their increased attention, patience and support as we investigate this matter,” Eagan police said in a statement Tuesday.

Police said they are continuing to investigate a report that another woman was physically assaulted in Lebanon Hills around 4.30pm on September 7. He parked at the Jensen Lake Trailhead parking lot and walked the nearby trails. Police said the woman managed to escape from her attacker.

“In order to promote public safety, we continue to ask the public to be aware of your surroundings, watch out for each other, and report suspicious people or vehicles,” police said in a statement on Tuesday.
