iPhone Users will now be able to ask ‌Siri‌ to make a call or send a message via the Messenger app. The “Hey ‌Siri‌, message (person) in Messenger” option will now work in hands-free calls. This has been a feature that Apple has been offering for a while, but Messenger did not support this feature until now.

Facebook is also adding voice and video voice messages. facetime Feature offered by Apple with iOS 17. Messenger users can leave a voicemail or audio message when a Messenger call is not answered.

Messenger now supports HD video calls, background noise suppression, and sound isolation for clearer call quality when using Messenger. HD is enabled by default for calls over Wi-Fi and can be added from Messenger settings for cellular calls as well.

In the near future, Messenger will support AI backgrounds in Messenger video calls. Creating a personalized AI background can be done by tapping the effects icon in the sidebar of a video call and selecting the “Backgrounds” option.
