Grace Renewed for Season 6 on ITV

ITV will continue to be home to Roy Grace’s unorthodox crime-solving work! Cinemaholic can confirm the network has renewed the British series crime drama ‘Grace’ series is here with its sixth season. Shooting for the upcoming movie will begin in April 2025 in Sussex, England. Russell Lewis continues to lead writers in adapting Peter James’ ‘Roy Grace’ novels. The renewal comes ahead of the release of the fifth season, which is expected to air early next year.

fourth season finale detective show offers answers to its longest lasting mystery while ending with tragedy. The episode begins with a tense emotional confrontation between Roy and his wife Sandy, whom he thought was dead since her disappearance. She reveals to him that she is not happy in their marriage since he spends too much time at work, leaving her with no choice but to run away from home. Furious, Roy storms out of the hospital but returns when his pregnant fiancée Cleo convinces him to go with her. Referring to Cleo’s pregnancy, Sandy says that it is not a good idea for Roy to raise a child due to his obsession with work.

As the episode ends, Roy receives news that Sandy killed herself. He leaves her a letter informing her that he loves her and that he hasn’t been happy for years. There is also a shocking revelation in the letter: Roy has an eight-year-old son named Bruno, whose existence he did not know until that moment. Sandy was pregnant when he left her and she hoped he would take care of her children. The episode also shows Norman Potting going undercover and narrowly escaping death.

Season five will undoubtedly focus on Roy and Cleo’s evolving dynamic with Bruno. The episodes are adaptations of the next four books in the novel series, ‘I Need You Dead’, ‘Dead If You Don’t’, ‘Dead at First Sight’ and ‘Kill Them’. We may also discover Norman’s fate in the next episode, as Craig Parkinson, the actor who plays Norman, has decided to leave the series.

The blurb for the next book in the series, ‘I Need You to Die’, says: “Desperate to escape the hell of her marriage, Lorna Belling falls for the charm of another man who promises her the world. But according to Lorna, life rarely goes according to your plans. “A photo that appears by chance on a customer’s mobile phone changes everything for him.” It goes on to describe Roy Grace finding a woman’s body in a bathroom in Brighton, and the seemingly open-and-shut case takes a bad turn of events.

Returning cast members for season 5 will include John Simm as Roy Grace, Richie Campbell as Glenn Branson, Brad Morrison as Nick Nicholl, Laura Elphinstone as Bella Moy, Sam Hoare as Cassian Pewe, and Zoë Tapper as Cleo Morey. Most, if not all, of these cast members are expected to appear in the sixth installment, which will be based on the remaining novels in the book series: “Left You Dead,” “Picture You Dead,” “Stop Them Dead.” ‘ and ‘One of Us Is Dead.’
