Human remains were found while searching for Melbourne woman Isla Bell.

“He leaves an impression, it’s hard to forget. He has a fighting spirit, sometimes loud, sometimes soft, always permanent,” he wrote on social media.

“We’re here for you, buddy. I love you, my guardian bear.”

He was planning to visit the Great Barrier Reef to celebrate his mother Isla’s 20th birthday.

“Hey buddy, we’re looking forward to our reef trip for your upcoming birthday. We’re trying to call you to book flights. Let us know what you think. We love you darling,” he posted on Oct. 18.

In the Nov. 2 update, he said: “My daughter is still missing and missed… Please don’t forget her.”

For the past six and a half weeks, Isla’s devastated family have been tirelessly searching the city, sharing flyers and raising awareness on social media.

They counted the days he was gone, begged him to come home and anyone with information to report him to the police.

A month after her disappearance, her family wrote on the “Help us find Isla Bell” Facebook page, “To say we miss her is an understatement and our hearts hurt every day.”

44 days later, they said, “Given the situation and the circumstances in which he disappeared, it is difficult not to assume the worst.”

On Wednesday, the same page shared a devastating update.
