One of the stars of EastEnders has opened up about her behind-the-scenes battle with depression.

57 year old actor has now revealed the impact of COVID-19 lockdown on her mental state health.

But the TV star turned to drawing and painting as a “coping strategy”, just as he did in his youth.

“But then I posted one on social media, and another, and the backlash started to grow.

“And then it suddenly dawned on me that I could start being who I wanted to be. Going back to painting was like falling in love with my younger self all over again.”

Nitin also revealed that he always dreamed of becoming a painter, but soon gave up on this dream in his youth.

This was after an art dealer saw her portfolio of work while attending an interview for a university.

The actor admitted: “He said, ‘You’ll never make it’… This broke me, so I decided to become an actor instead.”
