GreenvilleCo. Boy shot by teenager during sleepover, deputies report

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office says it responded to a shooting in Greenville Saturday night that left a child with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

Deputies say they responded to a home near Crosby Circle at 11:35 p.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 call about a child who had been shot.

Deputies said a seven-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound to the abdomen before being taken to the hospital.

A 13-year-old suspect in connection with the shooting was arrested following an extensive investigation, according to deputies.

Deputies say they believe the suspect had a sleepover with the victim and fled the scene after the shooting.

Deputies said the suspect was found at his home a few doors away from the scene.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident.
