2 people arrested in connection with negligence and death of 79-year-old woman in Brockton

The Plymouth District Attorney’s Office announced Friday morning that two people have been arrested in connection with the negligence and death of an elderly woman, and police are still searching for a third suspect.

Massachusetts State Police arrested 53-year-old Eva Fontes Cardoso and 64-year-old Lisa Hamilton on Friday. Investigators are still searching for 31-year-old Kayla Cardoso, district attorney’s spokeswoman Beth Stone wrote in an email.

Prosecutors say all three participated in a scheme to steal from the Medicare program.
