How to Watch Nebraska Football vs. Wisconsin: Breakdown, Preview, TV Channel

The Big Ten West may be caught in the wind of conference realignment, but the spirit of the odd division remains Nebraska Corn Husks We play the Wisconsin Badgers in Lincoln on Saturday afternoon.

When viewed from a distance, it is difficult to distinguish the two teams. Both programs are 5-5 battling for bowl eligibility. Both made changes to their offensive coordinators, and Wisconsin and head coach Luke Fickell bid farewell to Phil Longo after a 16-13 loss to No. 1 Oregon last week in Madison. Huskers demoted Marcus Satterfield The coach who goes to hard work with the NU head coach Matt Rhule We brought in Dana Holgorsen to instill some confidence.

Saturday’s contest is crucial as pressure mounts on both programs to show improvement; While one program locks up a postseason berth, the other is forced to sweat another week to see if they’ll make the bowl in 2024.

Here’s everything you need to know as the Huskers face the Badgers on Senior Day.

Appearance: Flip a coin and choose the winner. This is shaping up to be between Nebraska and Wisconsin this weekend for Senior Day at Memorial Stadium.

The success Fickell has had in Cincinnati has yet to translate into sustained success in Madison. Fickell brought in Phil Longo to run his offense using a modified version of the blitz, but that failed, leading to his firing following last week’s 16-13 loss at home to No. 1 Oregon.

Much like Nebraska, Wisconsin’s offense ranks as one of the worst in the country. UW’s rushing attack ranks 57th nationally with 169.3 yards per game, but its passing offense (102), total offense (91) and scoring offense (97) all rank 91st or worse. Part of this is due to injury bug. Longo designated former Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dyke as his signal caller, but he suffered a season-ending injury in the third game of the season against Alabama. Backup Braedyn Locke stepped in and produced middling results with 1,514 yards, 55.1% passing, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions.

Leaning on a ground attack is a quarterback’s best friend, and that comes in the form of Oklahoma transfer Tawee Walker throwing for 10 scores with 773 yards on 162 carries. Vinny Anthony II leads the team with 496 receiving yards, averaging 17.7 per game. Returning All-Big Ten pass catcher Will Pauling leads the team with 42 catches, 407 yards and three touchdowns.

Linebacker Hunter Wohler, another All-Big Ten performer from a season ago, leads the Badgers with 63 tackles and one TFL. Arkansas transfer Jaheim Thomas ranks second with 52 steals, while Christian Alliegro leads the team with three steals. Recording sacks has been a pain for Wisconsin this season; He ranked 15th in the conference with just 16 sacks and last in TFLs with 39. The same goes for interceptions, with the Badgers sitting last and second in the Big Ten with four points. Last in forced fumbles by three.

Depending on how each team plays this season, the team that makes the fewest mistakes and makes the fewest mistakes will win. Since Dana Holgorsen has another week to get acclimated with the offensive line-up and establish his expectations, it makes sense to expect a better offensive performance. Unlike Nebraska, the Badgers have to adjust without their offensive coordinator in the building. With that in mind, I like Nebraska in this one, but there’s a good chance this will be one possession so all bets are off.
