Prime suspect in Delhi police murder shot dead in police encounter in Sangam Vihar – India TV

A day after a Delhi Police constable died in a fatal stabbing in southeast Delhi’s Govindpuri area, authorities on Sunday (November 24) said one of the prime accused in the case was shot dead in a police encounter in Sangam Vihar area. . According to the information released, the deceased has been identified as Raghav, who along with his two accomplices (Deepak Max and Krish Gupta) allegedly attacked Constable Kiran Pal, who was on night patrol on Saturday.

While Deepak Max and Krish Gupta were arrested only on Saturday, the third accused, Raghav, who allegedly stabbed Pal, remained at large, police said. However, after receiving information about Raghav’s location in Sangam Vihar, the police immediately swung into action to nab him.

A senior police official said: “Acting on specific information, teams from New Delhi Region (NDR) Special Cell and South East Zone Narcotics Cell went to Sangam Vihar late on Saturday night to nab the accused. Raghav opened fire on the police after he surrendered.” “The police responded in self-defense and injured him.”

“He was immediately rushed to ESIC Hospital in Okhla, but he succumbed to his injuries,” the official said. A pistol and two cartridges were seized from Raghav’s possession.

About the incident

The three accused were involved in the brutal stabbing of Constable Kiran Pal posted at Govindpuri Police Station. The police officer was on night patrol when the trio attacked him after he stopped them for questioning in the early hours of Saturday.

According to authorities, when the police officer tried to stop the accused (who was on a two-wheeler), they initially threw stones at him in an attempt to evade arrest. However, Pal managed to block their way by placing his bike in front of their vehicles. When he took his vehicle keys and began questioning him, the trio allegedly stabbed him.

The body of Constable Kiran Pal was cremated

Meanwhile, late police officer Kiran Pal was cremated with state honors on Sunday. The final ceremonies were attended by several senior Delhi Police officials, including Commissioner of Police Sanjay Arora.
