Traffic stop leads to arrest of wanted sex offender in Mount Juliet

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WSMV) – Mt. According to the Juliet Police Department, a traffic stop led to the arrest of a wanted sex offender.

Police said they stopped a truck on Old Lebanon Dirt Road for an expired tag from January 2022. The investigation revealed that the driver was wanted on multiple felony charges.

MJPD said the 38-year-old Nashville man is a registered sex offender and is wanted on six felonies, including failure to report as a registered sex offender and evading parole out of Nashville.

MJPD said the man had been unregistered since February 2022.

The original charges stem from the attempted rape of a child in Sumner County.

Police did not release the man’s name.

“Thanks to proactive policing and the determination of our officers, another wanted individual is now in custody,” MJPD said.
