At 8:47 a.m. Monday, a bus driver in Neijiang, southwest China’s Sichuan Province, suffered a sudden illness, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in one death and four injuries, according to a statement from local police.

The 49-year-old driver, identified as Chen, was driving the bus at the intersection of Han’an Boulevard and Jianshe Road in Neijiang’s Dongxing District when the incident occurred.

Following the incident, the local public security bureau immediately sent police to the scene to control the situation. The driver and the injured were taken to the hospital. According to local police, the exact cause of the incident is still under investigation.
