NSW woman’s brother with multiple personalities also alleges abuse at father’s hands

A sibling of a New South Wales woman with multiple personalities also claimed she was abused by their father, who is on trial in Newcastle.

The father, known only as SN, pleaded not guilty to 26 charges against him in Newcastle District Court.

These allegations relate to the alleged sexual abuse of two of his children over a seven-year period ending in 2016.

One of the children, LN, was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder, the jury was told.

LN was sworn in as himself when he entered the witness box earlier this month, then testified under oath under three alternative identities over 10 days.

Both allege abuse

LN alleged chronic sexual and physical abuse at the hands of SN.

His brother AB has been testifying since last week and told the jury about allegations of sexual assault and touching in bathrooms and beds.

AB said that they did not consent, but “I did what he told me, I was tired of fighting.”

In her statement, LN, an alternate personality of a 13-year-old teenager, said she and AB were asked to choose a sex toy, hide it and use it to practice sex.

“I put him in my Cabbage Patch crib and I put the Pound Puppies where no one could find them,” LN said in earlier evidence.

AB told the jury about the allegation that he was given the sex toy, and today defense attorney Garry Sundstrom questioned that evidence.

“I don’t think SN ever told you to keep it, never gave it to you,” he said.

The EU responded “wrong”.

AB and LN, one of his alters, told the jury they had experienced genital burning as children at the time of the alleged abuse.

SN has vehemently denied allegations that any abuse of any of the siblings occurred.

It was claimed that his mother knew

Both AB and LN also spoke of a night when they learned that their mother was aware of SN’s alleged abuse.

AB told the jury that LN had been crying and upset before a “big argument”.

“I looked at him and said, ‘What’s wrong?'” AB said. I said.” he said.

“He turned around and said, ‘SN is abusing me and DN (my mother) knows it… and she knows he is abusing you too,'” AB told the court.

“She (Mom) looked directly at me and simply said ‘Yes’ and explained that LN and I were both willing participants and that she saw no need to intervene,” AB said.

LN explained the incident in his statement.

Mr. Sundstrom told him the incident did not happen.

LN rejected this.

DN has not been charged with any crime in relation to any of her children.

The trial is expected to last until mid-December.
