One at large, the other in custody after two separate stabbings in Hobart

Two separate stabbings within an hour of each other have led to a large police presence on Hobart’s east coast this evening.

The first incident occurred at around 5.40pm at the KFC on Ross Avenue in Rosny Park and left a teenager with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are currently searching for the alleged attacker responsible.

The second stabbing occurred a short time later at the nearby Rosny Bus Shopping Centre.

Footage from the scene shows a path and a set of stairs covered in blood.

A police spokesman said a male victim injured in the bus mall incident was in a stable condition after suffering injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

A juvenile has been detained and is assisting with investigations.

Investigators believe the parties involved in both incidents knew each other.

Both incidents occurred just opposite Bellerive Police Station.
