Woman in her 60s attacked during aggravated burglary in Dublin

A woman in her 60s was attacked during an aggravated burglary in Dublin on Monday.

The incident occurred at around 2am on Ballyfermot Parade when a man broke into the woman’s home and threatened her with a hammer.

After the fight, the woman managed to throw herself on the street and asked for help.

Gardaí attended immediately and a man in his 30s was arrested at the scene.

Some money, house keys and car keys were seized.

The man is currently being held at a Garda station in west Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí said investigations were ongoing.
