Trump ‘Border Czar’ Threatens States That Don’t Want to ‘Cooperate’ on Deportations

Tom HomanPresident-elect Donald Trump’s new “border czar” warns states that refuse to “cooperate” with the US mass deportation plans They could face having their federal funding cut off.

Homan, who served as Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement during Trump’s first administration. Appeared on Fox News “Life, Liberty & Levin” will discuss strategy with host Mark Levin on Sunday.

“If you have a governor who says, ‘I’m not going to cooperate, I’m going to block you.’ So federal funds should be cut to that state, very drastically, so that people in that state can understand that the governor is the responsible party, the mayor is the responsible party,” Levin said.

“They can beat their chests all they want to be cities of refuge,” he continued. “They are part of the United States whether they like it or not. “This is a federal matter.”

Homan replied: “And it will happen. “I assure you that President Trump will do it.”

Homan claimed that he “received death threats” after being elected “border czar”, which he suggested showed that “those who want to enforce the law are the bad guys, and those who break the law are the victims”.

Later in the interview, he addressed state and city leaders and said: “What governor or mayor doesn’t want public safety threats and national security threats coming out of their neighborhoods, out of their communities? “This is their number one responsibility.”

Homan served as head of ICE’s deportation branch under former President Barack Obamais helping the administration remove record numbers of immigrants from the United States.

Homan, who served as acting head of ICE during Trump’s first term in the White House, oversaw one of the administration’s most notorious policies: the separation of immigrant children from their families.
