Man arrested after reportedly stabbing teenage employee in neck at Carver Fleet Farm

A 31-year-old man from Kansas City was arrested Sunday after stabbing a Fleet Farm employee in the neck in Carver, according to a news release from the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to a reported assault at Filo Farm at approximately 2:06 p.m. There they found a 17-year-old store employee stabbed in the neck.

The girl was taken to the hospital, where her condition was last reported stable, according to officials.

Stephanie Armstrong’s husband and daughter went to Fleet Farm to run errands on Sunday and came home with a shocking story.

“My husband was inside and he was shopping and all of a sudden he heard a young girl screaming, ‘He stabbed me,'” said Armstrong, who lives in Waconia. “It’s very scary and shocking.”

“I hope and pray that he (the victim) makes a full recovery and is able to cross this bridge and at some point go back to work and resume his normal life. It was absolutely unfair,” Armstrong said.

Authorities said the 31-year-old male suspect from Kansas left the scene before deputies arrived.

Armstrong says his daughter saw this. “The suspect came out and immediately got into the car next to him and drove away,” Armstrong said. “That’s the sad part, until you hear things like this you don’t feel like you need to be alert. “Then you realize life can change in an instant and you really have to be aware of your surroundings.”

A witness was able to give officers a description and license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle. Deputies then pulled the man over and arrested him.

Jail records show Gerald Dwayne Hudson was booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Authorities said there is no known connection between the suspect and the employee.
