The ending of Moana 2 has been announced: What will happen to Moana and Maui?

While Maui is floating in the water, Loto is rescued by Kele and Moni. However, when he wakes up, he sees that Moana is not there and dives into the ground where her lifeless body is floating in the water. The ocean moves around them to create an air bubble, but Moana does not appear to move.

Maui sings to him, calling his ancestors around. Her grandmother appears and sings hymns to her, and soon bright tattoos appear on Moana’s arm. He suddenly wakes up. Maui’s tattoos also return, and two of them rise from the water.

Maui connects to the island and lifts it out of the ocean. Moana celebrates her new demigod status as the crew jumps ashore and regroups.

They find a map on the wall with engravings of different islands connected to the ocean. It takes a while, but suddenly they hear the sound of a boat heading towards them. Later, several more boats appear, proving that there were indeed other people there all this time.

The people of the ocean are returning home

On the island of Motunui, Moana’s younger sister Simea sits by the water waiting for Moana to come home. Maui suddenly lands on the island and stuns its inhabitants. After giving Simea a gift from her sister, they look at the water and see Moana, Loto, Kele and Moni returning.

Behind them are hundreds more boats, all ocean people coming to introduce themselves. When Moana reaches land, she embraces her family.
