A 36-year-old woman died in a crash involving an articulated truck and car on the A75 near Annan

A woman has died in a crash involving a truck and a car in Dumfries and Galloway.

Police were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash on the A75 between Annan and Eastriggs at around 9.30am on Wednesday.

A green DAF articulated truck and a black Ford Ka were involved in the accident.

When the emergency service arrived at the scene, it was determined that the 36-year-old woman, the driver of the car, died at the scene.

Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the dead woman at this difficult time.

“Officers will support them throughout the investigation.

“Our investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances and I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was driving in the area at the time and has dashcam footage that could help us contact them.”
