Thika police are investigating an incident in which a 76-year-old woman suddenly collapsed and died while seeking service at a public office. Monday afternoon.

According to the information obtained, the woman was waiting in the waiting area with other customers for the officer, who was reportedly away on his lunch break.

Sources in the office claim that the officer told customers to wait until the afternoon when he would return after lunch to serve them.

“He was in the waiting area with other customers waiting for an officer at lunch time and we heard screams. We ran there and received news that he had collapsed, then we notified the police,” they said.

According to Thika West Sub-County Police Commander Lawrence Muchangi, they received reports that a woman had suddenly collapsed while seeking service at a public office and dispatched officers.

“We received a report from the office that a client had passed out in his office while seeking service, and I dispatched several officers to the building to determine that the report was accurate,” he said.

HE He added that upon arrival at the scene, officers quickly rushed the woman to hospital for emergency treatment, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

He added that police have informed the family about his death and are awaiting autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death.

“This is a tragic incident and we are working to establish the circumstances surrounding his sudden collapse and death,” Thika West Police Commander said.

This is not the first time someone has collapsed and died in a government office in Thika. Three years ago, a clerk at the Sub-County Treasurer’s office collapsed and died in the restroom.
