Following the incident, the man who was flown from Fife died in hospital.

A person injured in the mine died in the hospital where he was taken.

Emergency services were called to Langside Quarry in Kennoway, Fife, at around 9am following reports of an injured man in the area. On October 17th.

The 29-year-old was flown to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment but later died.

Police Scotland confirmed that the investigation was ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive had been notified.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “At around 9am on Thursday, October 17, we were called to reports of a man injured at a commercial premises on Langside Road in Kennoway.

“A 29-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he later died.

“Investigations are ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive has information.”
