2 adults, child injured in rollover crash on SR 87; suspicion of impairment

MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ (AZFamily) — Two adults and a teenage girl were taken to the hospital following a rollover crash on an East Valley highway early Friday morning.

Investigators suspect impairment was a factor in the crash, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of State Route 87 at milepost 205 in Fort McDowell.

Troopers at the scene told Arizona Family that a truck with three people inside was speeding southbound, crossed the median and crashed into the northbound lane.

DPS said two adults and a five-year-old girl were thrown from the truck during the crash, and all three were taken to the hospital. While the adults suffered life-threatening injuries, the girl was not seriously injured and is expected to be in stable condition.

The northbound lanes of SR 87 at Bush Highway were closed during the investigation and reopened around 7:30 a.m.

Troopers closed SR 87 at Bush Highway due to a serious single-vehicle crash.
