Man who stabbed woman and two children in London arrested | UK News

A woman and two children were stabbed in east London.

Metropolitan Police He said officers were called to First Avenue, Dagenham, at around 5.35pm to reports of a stabbing.

A woman believed to be in her 30s and two children, a girl believed to be eight years old and a boy believed to be two years old, were found with stab wounds.

“We are waiting for a status update on the woman and the two-year-old child,” police said.

“The eight-year-old girl’s injuries are not life-threatening.”

Police initially reported that both of the injured children were girls.

One person was detained at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police said that he was also hospitalized after falling ill, but was discharged after an evaluation.

Detective Constable Lewis Basford, of Barking and Dagenham police, said: “This is a truly shocking attack and I would like to thank local residents for their help and patience while we deal with this incident.

“At this early stage, we believe those involved are known to each other and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.

“The scene will remain in place for some time as our officers carry out vital work and you will see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.”

London The Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance were also sent to the scene.
