Full list of routes Megabus has suspended in England and Wales | UK News

Bus service operator Megabus announces it will cut its routes England And Wales.

Despite the operator offering fares as low as £1, demand for its services has not reached pre-pandemic levels.

Will continue to serve on its routes Scotland As well as all cross-border services between Scotland, England and Wales, according to reports First Route.

Route between Bristol and Falcon plymouth will continue as is, but all other operations in England and Wales will cease from 4 December.

Anglo-Scottish and Anglo-Welsh routes will continue to provide connections within England and Wales, including Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield and London, Manchester, Birmingham and London, and Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff.

Customers with reservations affected by the changes will be contacted by Megabus and provided with alternative transportation or a refund.

Megabus managing director Simone Walsh said: ‘It is not sustainable for us to continue operating our existing network as customer demand is so low.’

He added that the decision to reduce service levels would enable Megabus to have a ‘more efficient network going forward’.

Ms Walsh continued: ‘We would like to thank the many passengers who travel with us every day and will ensure we continue to provide an affordable, high-quality service on parts of the network that are not affected by these changes.’

The company is consulting with staff and expects “a small number of positions will be affected”.

It carries more than four million passengers a year.

Megabus was founded by Scottish businessman Sir Brian Souter in 2003 and its network once connected more than 100 locations across the UK.
