Akron police investigating shooting death of 25-year-old

The Akron Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a 25-year-old in Akron on Friday.

According to police, officers responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of Keys Place around 10:25 p.m.

Police said they took Neiko Swesey, who was pronounced dead at the scene, to a nearby apartment when they arrived.

Officers found an apartment as well as two unoccupied vehicles hit by bullets, authorities said.

Police say they arrested a 20-year-old woman for interfering with an emergency and misconduct in office after she repeatedly intervened with first responders and medical personnel.

The department is still investigating the cause of the attack.
