KANSAS CITY — Two people were killed in a crash that occurred just before 4 a.m. Sunday in Kansas City.

According to KCPD Officer Alayna Gonzalez, a Dodge Hornet was traveling southbound on Jackson Street in Kansas City at a very high rate of speed. The driver of the Dodge failed to stop for a red traffic control signal on Truman Road.

The Dodge continued southeast after the crash and crashed into the west wall of the Cash America Pawn business at 4205 Truman Road.

The front passenger of the Dodge and the driver of the Ford were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and two other passengers of the Dodge were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Dodge driver’s injury is under investigation, according to Gonzalez
