“I came from a great family, but I always had a lot of energy and was seen as different my whole life, which is partly why I did the dedication ceremony to reclaim my difference and be okay with it,” she says.

Jessica lost her father, a plumber, at the age of 14.

“My father’s death left a big, deep hole in my heart,” he says. “I started looking for preciousness and acceptance in the male gaze. It wasn’t until I was 22 that I realized: ‘I don’t have to be this stuck up person anymore. ‘I can be whoever I want.’”

A. clairvoyant He mentioned to Jessica that he had a talent for reading horoscopes, so he began expanding his knowledge of astrology.

“I worked in sales for many years, including in London, and played a major role in business development for a waste management company,” he says. “But the corporate industry wasn’t for me. He took my heart and soul and tore me into pieces. I got super depressed. When I realized I could be whoever I wanted, I chose a crystal-loving hippie!”

In 2018, he opened his online business Moonchild by selling the crystal water bottles he imported. It turned into astrology and tarot card readingsand eventually started mentoring.

“Things were just getting started,” he recalls.

But as of November 2021, Jessica was struggling; she was in an unhealthy relationship and felt trapped. Moonchild’s Facebook page and website were controlled by his partner, who opened these pages under his own name.

“These were two platforms that were making money, and I couldn’t access them and he wouldn’t change them for me,” Jessica says. “It was a heartbreaking decision to either stay in this relationship that I knew wasn’t right for me and try to save Moonchild, or take back my sovereignty.”

Jessica broke up with her partner but returned to the relationship because of her job. But he made another decision: He wanted to marry her.

“I didn’t know who I was,” Jessica admits. “I told my partner that in order to love him, I had to love myself first, and he supported this. So I prepared a dedication ceremony in front of the mirror. Help me get back to my heart and soul.”

Their wedding took place in Auckland’s Riverhead Forest, with dream catchers attached to pine trees and a friend playing crystal sound bowls. Carpets were laid in the hallways and cushions were placed for the 14 guests, including his mother, sister and grandmother.

congratulating him, Licence And Block New Zealand contestant Niki Osborne introduced the excited bride, who wore a store-bought green Victoria’s Secret dress.

“We opened a mirror at the end of the altar so I could see myself,” he says. “I convinced my friends choose a crystal I took it out of a bowl that I would put around me, and created a circle of love in which to say my vows. I could feel the love for myself growing. “It opened my heart so much that I was crying.”

After taking the oath promising to “check in with you to see what you really want before doing anything” and “knowing” how valuable am i”, Jessica looked in the mirror and put on her ring, which was decorated with an owl and the word “commitment” engraved on it.

“Then we ate delicious cakes and sat in this gorgeous area in the forest until dark,” she smiles.

A month later, Jessica finally decided to break up with her partner, which also meant losing the job she loved. But he promised to develop an even better initiative. “It wasn’t worth my mental health anymore,” he says.

After experiencing the joy of marrying herself, Jessica wanted to offer this as a service to other women and began holding group dedication ceremonies. The Witch of Devotion is born and sees her working as “guide and witch bestie”.

“This was an incredible moment of my life, and if I can help women look in the mirror and love their own reflection, that’s a great thing,” she enthuses. “Dedication is magical.”
