Kinston man arrested on weapons charges

KINSTON, NC (WNCT) — Law enforcement officers with the Kinston Police Department arrested a man on weapons charges on October 26th.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired on McDaniels Street at 12:15 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, 53-year-old Charles McPhail allegedly pointed a gun at the caller and fired.

Officers also confirmed McPhail had an active arrest warrant unrelated to this incident. Officers’ efforts to get McPhail to leave the residence were unsuccessful, and officers entered the home and took him into custody.

McPhail faces charges of resisting a public officer, terrorizing the public with a weapon, disorderly conduct and assault by pointing a gun.
