Columbus police looking for clues to stabbing suspect’s whereabouts

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – Columbus police are asking for the public’s help finding a man wanted in connection with an incident weekend stabbing incident.

Jerry Allen, 57, is wanted on a charge of aggravated assault, authorities said. Police added that Alen was homeless and did not have access to a vehicle and was believed to be on foot.

On Saturday, officers responded to the Ralston Tower on 12th Street. They found a male victim with stab wounds, who was initially transported to Piedmont Columbus County and suffered life-threatening injuries. The victim was then taken to an Atlanta hospital for further treatment.

Anyone who knows where the suspect may be is asked to contact Columbus police at 706-225-4263 or 911. Authorities added that tips can be submitted anonymously and a reward may be offered for information leading to Allen’s arrest.
