33-year-old killed in car crash in New London

NEW LONDON, CT (WFSB) – A 33-year-old man died Monday following a car accident that occurred two days earlier.

Police were called to respond to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Colman Street and Broad Street at 11.49pm on Saturday.

Police teams arriving at the scene found that there were many injured people.

Four people were transported to L+M Hospital for medical treatment.

One of the drivers, identified as Jason Poirier of New London, was later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

Poirier died from his injuries on Monday.

The investigation into the accident continues.
